Meet The Team

Lisa Cleevely

Clinical Director

Consultant Mental Health Nurse / Independent Prescriber

As well as setting up Thrive Psychiatry in 2025, Lisa is the Clinical Lead of a large NHS Mental Health Service.

She has 15 years of experience delivering mental health services across NHS and Private sectors, specialising in support for individuals with Autism, ADHD, Intellectual disabilities and Complex Mental Health needs.

Lisa holds a degree in Mental Health Nursing, a Masters in Psychology and is a registered Independent Prescriber - enabling her to independently diagnose, support and prescribe.

Lisa has qualifications in ADHD diagnostics, Autism Diagnostics, DBT, ACT, PBS, ARFID and OCD. Lisa speaks passionately about access to diagnostic and treatment pathways for individuals who are Neurodiverse.

James Lea

Consultant Neurologic Music Therapist

James holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Music Therapy. He offers a research-informed, clinical approach, using music in structured and purposeful ways to support improvements in cognitive, sensory, motor, and speech and language functioning, as well as emotional regulation and overall wellbeing.

James works with children, young people, and adults who experience mental health difficulties, autism, ADHD, trauma, and complex emotional or neurodevelopmental needs.

As a Consultant Therapist, James brings extensive experience across healthcare, education, and community settings. He works collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams to deliver thoughtful, person-centred care. James also has qualifications in Autism diagnostics.

Darren Hinder

Consultant Psychologist

Darren is a Consultant Psychologist (forensic) with 29 years’ experience working across a wide range of settings. Throughout his career, Darren has supported individuals from diverse age groups, backgrounds, and life experiences. Since 2007, Darren has worked extensively with neurodivergent individuals, including within

specialist autism and learning disability services and organisations.

His practice is grounded in a neuro-affirmative approach, recognising and valuing neurodiversity whilst supporting

individuals in ways that are collaborative, and person-centered. Darren has considerable experience working with autistic clients and is qualified in the assessment of autism spectrum disorder. He joins THRIVE as part of our Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostic team, drawing upon his extensive psychological expertise, alongside a commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based input.

Specialist Consultants

Clinical Psychologist and Speech and Language Therapists

When assessing and diagnosing ADHD, and particularly autism, Lisa and James work with a close, experienced team of regular consultants, including clinical psychologists and speech and language therapists.

Many of these clinicians are highly experienced NHS practitioners. They are contracted and regulated by Thrive, ensuring their continuing professional development (CPD) and professional knowledge remain up to date.

Together, they join Lisa and James to form a multidisciplinary team (MDT), supporting the review of assessment interviews, observations, and contributing collaboratively to the final diagnostic report.

Our clinic is designed to be a welcoming, calm, and supportive space for everyone who visits. Located in the heart of Dunstable, we offer a private and comfortable environment that puts individuals and families at ease from the moment they arrive. We understand that attending appointments can sometimes feel daunting, so we’ve created a setting that promotes safety, respect, and understanding throughout the assessment and treatment process.

To support families and carers, we also provide a dedicated breakout space where loved ones can relax, wait comfortably, or take part in care discussions when appropriate. Conveniently situated in the town centre, our clinic offers free on-site parking, making your visit as stress-free and accessible as possible.
